I've used huntsman alot, It's a fun weapon, but the moments your target knows it's being targeted is when you lose. If they don't know they act predictably. Of course when they do know, they strafe and sidestep in weird ways so you miss your (usually) single opportunity to kill them before they're on you and it's over.
Using the SMG as a secondary is a good idea though. It's far more reliable and can get you the finishing blow.

Never thought I would ever see the Huntsman being used in Competitive, even if it still needs a buff cause the Sniper Rifle is basically better in most situations
