Rudolph Valentino was an Italian-born American actor who was popular during the silent film era in the 1920s. He was born on May 6, 1895, in Castellaneta, Italy, and his birth name was Rodolfo Alfonso Raffaello Pierre Filibert Guglielmi di Valentina d'Antonguolla.

Valentino immigrated to the United States in 1913 and began his career as a dancer before turning to acting. He rose to fame with his starring roles in films such as "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" (1921), "The Sheik" (1921), and "Blood and Sand" (1922). He became known for his good looks, sensuality, and on-screen persona as a romantic hero.

Valentino's sudden death at the age of 31 in 1926 due to complications from a perforated ulcer caused a media frenzy and led to public mourning. His death is considered one of the first instances of a celebrity death causing a mass outpouring of grief and hysteria. Valentino's legacy as a cultural icon and symbol of male sexuality has continued long after his death, and he is still widely recognized and celebrated today.
