In this video, we're taking a look at an upcoming Galaxy S22 Ultra camera feature that you can try right now on your S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra. The feature is called Samsung Expert RAW and its a separate camera app that unlocks the full capabilities of the Samsung Pro Mode experience. It allows for manual control and 16 bit RAW capture with all 4 camera including the ultra wide, wide, 3x telephoto, and 10x telephoto. Outside of the 16 bit RAW capture you also have plenty of manual controls so you can dial in the perfect settings. I have no doubt this will be a stand out feature on the upcoming Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. It's really cool that Samsung is giving us all the opportunity to try out this feature now! Make sure to stay tuned for my upcoming Galaxy S22 coverage including my Samsung S22 Ultra unboxing and review! Additionally, I will have plenty of Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra camera tips and tricks.

How excited are you for the Galaxy S22 Ultra??

I wish that the expert raw camera app will be built-in the traditional camera app in s22 ultra instead of having multiple camera apps in one phone

So I'm gonna get my S22 Ultra on Monday and I'm pretty excited for this feature.
I'm a photographer and I mainly shoot animals. I have no regular need for an ultra wide lense, but getting usable RAW images fromt he ultra wide camera of my phone might just mean that I don't need to get a dedicated ultra wide lens...

What technology has gone into this phone!!!
I had an LG G5 it was long passed its use by date and it was not much user friendly after my eye operation. I started looking for a phone that I can read it outside in the daylight and something that I can enlarge the letters fonts. I read a few pump up reviews of this Galaxy S22 Ultra. I had just sold our house (without any agents milking my profits) which left me with some spare cash for treats, so there we go I got it, and what a camera it is!! I can also use it as a Phone.

I have the s21 ultra and the ability to shoot on all lenses are added in pro mode, but it looks grainy and noisy on higher lenses, but looks great in expert raw. Love to see your comparison of expert raw and stock camera on s21 ultra.

Thanks for this vid, i didnt understood the benefits of it until now. I think for the Main 108MP Sensor the Main App is still better but for the ultrawide, the telephoto and supertelephoto the expert raw App is amazing. Greetings from austria

G'day mate 👌
I never thought that any phone will be able to shoot 16bit raw.
I just downloaded it and my jaw is still on the floor!
Apple should be extremely worried now.
My S21 Ultra is DEFINITELY THE BEST PHONE OUT NOW.

I have to understand, if you take a photo in expert raw the format of the jpg will be the same image as the normal mode of the camera built into the device?

Recently moved on from a Note 10+ to an S22 Ultra. So far, great move and the S22's camera is da bomb! Honestly, while I appreciate the S22's other features, it was the camera that sold me on it. It's certainly a LOT easier to pack around than my Nikon Z5 with a 24-200 lens when I'm out on a motorcycle trip! 🙂

I've done some comparative photos (side by side of the same scene) and while the S22's camera is still not QUITE up to the Z5's full-frame sensor...it's pretty darn close! Maybe a little oversaturated with the S22's camera but nothing that can't be addressed later in post-processing.

I usually use the native app in "Photo" or "Pro" mode for "everyday" pics. When it comes to potential "keepers", I find myself switching over to Expert RAW. I have the app defaulted to RAW only (as opposed to RAW/JPEG, and no HEIC format) and those images are easily post-processed later in Lightroom. If I understand things correctly, when shooting RAW in the native camera app, you're limited to 12-bit image files; Expert RAW bumps that up to 16-bit. Yes, larger file sizes to storage but I'm in good shape there. I use an external 512MB micro-SD card and usually transfer images daily from internal storage to the micro-SD card and do any "culling" from there.

As far as improvements...I'd love to see an option to change the focus peaking color from just green to having a choice for red or yellow when manually focusing. I shoot a lot of landscape pics and the "stock" green caste can easily get lost in a forested background or greenish trees and vegetation. Having a contrasting focus peaking color would be nice!

I'd also like to see Expert RAW add in the option of being able to use the S-pen as a remote shutter like it can in the native app.

Since Samsung did away with the ability to dock an additional SD card (what WERE they thinking??? I know, I know...pushing that cloud storage...), it would also be nice if there was a way to save images to that external SD card DIRECTLY instead of saving to internal storage and then having to physically transfer things from there to the external storage...

Hi there, do you know how to do a wide selfie on s22 ultra? On the s9+ you could pan from side to side and it would stitch a wide selfie like a panaroma.
