The WWE Divas championship existed from 2008 until 2016 and represents one of the most polarising eras of women’s wrestling in the WWE. Today we’re gonna look back at the Divas division and specifically the Divas title, as we brutally rate every Divas champion from AJ Lee to Nikki Bella to Paige to Maryse and more! As well as talk about why the Divas championship may be cursed!

eve's heel title reign was so good and ahead of her time. she was the full package, and her retirement really left a huge hole in the division

I believe that Divas era started to an end when Laycool just broke apart and McCool left WWE early. She was an A in my opinion, one of the pioneers in women's wrestling history and the mother of divas division even some of the women's of current era like Charlotte and Bianca might be inspired of her only. When Michelle left WWE then after Maryse and Melina were released, only left were Kelly, Eve, Nattie, Glamazon and The Bellas. Alicia Fox, Tamina and Rosa were on SmackDown only. Kaitlyn and AJ were newbies that time! It was not the longer they were having their matches but the quality which I don't think I found on any after that! After Beth Phoenix title reign the division became so pathetic.

AJ is def the most iconic divas champ, your ranking is pretty damn spot on. I would switch Charlotte and Paige's rankings just bc Paige's reigns were so short and she really only feuded with AJ and Alicia during her reigns.

Sorry but Kelly Kelly deserved an A and even though Jillian’s reign was only 5 minutes literally it was so iconic to diva Stans and for that she deserves at least a B. Sorry not sorry🤷🏽‍♀️. Also charlotte deserved an A too, for actually making the title a little bit more serious. My only critiques.

I wouldn't call this "a curse" but because the belt looked like what it LOOKED like, the belt was Never Respected. It looked like a Belt BARBIE would wear in a "BARBIE joins the WWE" toy doll

Eve Torres will always be my personal favorite Divas champion & the 1 who I think was the best, AJ being 2nd. She was the full package. Good face, heel, good mic skills, had a good look, good wrestling abilities for her time. I miss her she is a legend in her own right & deserves recognition of being 1 of the best in the Divas era like Beth, Mickie & Michelle get. Her somersault off the top rope were beautiful & made her the closet thing we got to a high flyer in the division during her time.

Maryse was the longest Divas Champion for 5 years. Also No One hsd a problem with the word DIVA. WWE decided it was a problem for some reason, all the girls and the gays loved WWE DIvas

The iconic match of Melina vs Alicia Fox will always be in the record books as one of the great matches of all time and all promotions just amazing wrestling match

I might get flamed for this but imo, the Divas era oozes tons of untapped potential. Yes, they hire most of them for their looks but you can't deny that a lot of them do grew love and respect for the company that they learned overtime. Even when some of the women can put out a solid matches as seen on superstars show, they are still keen on short matches which is honestly a shame. It's also sad to see a lot of these women left at their peak.

I believe they leaned so heavily into the theme for the division being Divas because TNA had the knockouts division lighting the wrestling world on fire and they stood out. While women's wrestling is better now, I do miss certain Divas from this era

While the Divas title was never prestigious, I do miss Eve Torres in WWE.
Maybe Hunter and WWE will invite the former Divas champion in a future Royal Rumble appearance?
