6-yr-old Unassisted Triple Play

The shortstop, Ross Bernath, pulling off an unassisted triple play at NYO. This play was featured on ESPN as the SportsCenter Top Ten #1 play on May 10, 2012.

Wow, didn’t realize how much this video blew up! I was five when I saw this on the news, and I’m the kid who hit that pop fly when I was in kindergarten. Because of the 5 run limit rule in that league, a triple play like that was really bad for our team. Most games at that age have people getting to the run limit in multiple innings, so we were really behind after that. Fortunately, a kid on the Dodgers hit an inside-the-park grand slam in the sixth inning! Description didn’t bother to mention that...

Smart kid. He recognized that there were other plays that needed to happen after he caught the ball. Many middle school players are not aware when there's a chance to make other plays and where those plays should be going

I completed an unassisted triple play playing first base when I was 8 years old and to this day it is still my crowning athletic achievement. It's awesome that everyone has cameras in there pockets nowadays so more kids can have videos of cool stuff like this to look back on.
