I still remember when Toby dropped the unfinished version and I was so shocked because

1. The fact that there was an official extended neo song now

2. Despite being unfinished, it's fantastic

These lyrics makes me think if Mettaton NEO had somehow won that fight, the monsters and humans would all be worshipping a seven souled glamorous GOD on the surface.

I love the contrast between this one and the original. One is Mettaton fighting for the sake of his people. This time, it's personal. Last time was not the last time they would meet. Mettaton couldn't stand his people not being safe or free, so he didn't accept his defeat. Now, it's not him standing between you and his people; it's him dancing with you until one of you drops. And he's going to make sure that the person that the person who can rise from out of the flames is him.

This sounds like after in the musical, after "But Nobody Came", Frisk arrived at the surface, only for Mettaton to fly right up in front of them with the full moon as the backdrop saying, "You really thought I died? It's called acting! Like my new upgrade? It's time for a final dance!"

I’m loving the lyric differences between this one and the previous NEO song you did! In the previous one, MTT echoed lyrics from Undyne and the song is more of MTT/the whole underground’s last stand against the human. Truly the song that would fit the final boss battle between the regular monsters and Sans. The og NEO encounter is also the last chance for the player to abort the genocide run, since if you spare MTT here, you unlock the King MTT Neutral Ending. But if you don’t, it’s really the encounter that solidifies you as the true horror, not the monsters. The previous NEO song is a ballad of stalling. “With every second, we save another life”, “real heroes never fear, real heroes laugh at death”, “smile, it’s closing night”, the entire song is MTT’s acceptance of his duty as the final protector of the underground

But this version is more hopeful, and while still an unfinished mix, and is more self-centered. MTT’s bragging about his skills, his might, and how sure he is in his victory. There’s no audience cheering him on because he’s past that. This NEO song is about how MTT is a human eradication robot first and foremost, designed to slaughter humans and known for its high defense. This isn’t the song of a martyr, this is the song of a duty that is going to be fulfilled one way or another

Wonderful composition, even for an unfinished mix! If you ever do finish this NEO song, i just know it’ll be amazing!!
