This is infuriating! When I bought my first house over 15 years ago I had to pay more because I had shaky credit. This was my fault and I paid for it. I’ve worked my butt off to get my stuff straightened out and my credit over 800. I shouldn’t have to pay more because I’m responsible now.

The 2008 financial crisis was caused by the same type mentality of trying to give everyone a house. People bought houses that they couldn't afford. Their bad choices affected everyone.

I've been in my home for 25 years I've seen my neighborhood go from all homeowners who cared about their property change to mostly rentals. Now the eyesore of homes that are rentals and don't look so great, is an indicator of what transpired in 2008. You could drive down my street and easily guess the homes that are owned versus the homes that are renter-occupied
