#498 Kryptonite Key Cable (You can find better)

When it comes to bicycle locks there's really not much we can do but make it hard for a thief to take our bike. So any time I see a bike lock with a cable I see a major weakness. Most cables, like this one, can be cut easily with pocket size cutters. While braided cable will likely have more tensile strength than a chain of equal diameter, it doesn't matter when were not pulling it apart. I highly recommend shopping around before choosing something like this. And try not leave your bike unattended for long periods of time.

Cable locks have their uses. But for bikes they only are suitable for locking a wheel to the bike frame.

I use locks like this to secure my helmet to the bike. I have a total of 4 different (high level) locks on my bike, an airtag and a tracki (just in case they decide to pick or grind open 4 locks). If you use only one lock especially like the one shown here, you just want your bike taken..period
