I believe Shushan Purim is the practice of celebrating Purim a day later in cities that were walled contemporary to Esther's time. In the Persian city of Shushan where the story takes place (present day Iran), the fighting lasted a day longer due to the magnitude of hatred toward Jews (celebration came after the battle was over).

I am personally very sorry for their loss, but I am also somehow on the same page with them... I believe the Savior is coming much sooner than many of us choose to believe. I believe it is only right to pray for these followers and pray they won't be mislead or a "fake Messiah" pops up and this somehow leads to destruction. I'm just going to pray for them all... my son said something about this and I ignored him because I was at the hospital with grand daughter and daughter. I feel really bad that I didn't give it more time or at least ask q<estions the next day. I need to work on some things.

I do think that this is a sign of the times just like you said how this is preparing the jews for the second coming. They are one step closer in this thought by their prophecies and the death of their Rabbi. Even though it's not LDS it does deal with the way they look at the second coming and how close it is as we do. And their scholar rabbi's are dying off.
