Показать описание
If you are looking for a hidden gem in the Yorkshire Dales then head to Pateley Bridge in Upper Nidderdale on the eastern side of the Yorkshire Dales. This charming town is full of history, and cute shops including the oldest sweet shop in the world and the best pie shop we have ever been in! It really is a hidden gem of the Yorkshire Dales and a great base for looking around the area.
In this video, we will showcase the historic side of the town, take a tour inside the Nidderdale Museum, and venture into the Yorkshire Dales to see the unusual Coldcuts Quarry and Toft Gate Limestone Kiln.

I did not think your videos could get any better but you have proved me wrong in the nicest possible way. I thoroughtly enjoyed today's episode which is an absolute delight for all the senses. When I think of the UK I think of these idyllic villages and charming scenery. Thank goodness for the love of the preservation of the past. And - thank goodness for not seeing grafitti, weeds and rubbish. I love how the British people take so much pride in their townships and the environment. A big thank you! xx

Full marks to any of the preservation organisations in the yorkshire area to preserving and keeping these amazing villages from a time past intact, and no starbucks, mcdonalds or boots in sight, all individual buisnesses....and thanks to maison-parfaite for bringing this area to your attention....great move on their behalf and well done to you for a fantastic video showcasing this area in the most excellent way

Thank you very much Will and Simon, this was beautifully done. I love England and always like to visit, it offers a lot for my taste. Great history, beautiful countryside and quaint/charming villages. Fish & Chips looked delicious 😋 Best wishes from Germany 😊

I was evacuated to Pateley in 1943 and left in 1946. It was a lovely place then and still is. I recall attending both the school on the hill and St Cuthbert’s church at the top of the hill. The towns museum is well worth visiting and has a host of memorabilia. The local walks are a must such as the Two Stoops and nearby Brimham Rocks. I have been back to Pateley many times and it still retains its old world charm. I live just an hours drive from that lovely place.

Just wanted to say 'thank you' for making this video. This was a HUGE help for us, visiting from the US! My wife and I decided to visit Pateley Bridge the end of last year (sept 2023), in no small part, due to this video. We rented a car from Enterprise, over in Harrogate, and stayed in this little village for a week. It was quite easy to drive around and take in some English countryside, while also visiting a few nearby sites, like Fountains Abbey and Brigham Rocks (definitely recommended). The views from the apartment we rented (Nydsley Hall), were unimaginably beautiful and perfectly located! Driving on the other side of the road was a new experience, but we quickly adapted (yeah, it's not as hard people suggested). A few suggestions during your visit, 1. get some Italian food from Olley's, 2. patronize the Royal Oak (tavern) and 3. visit the Nidderdale Museum... This was a GREAT experience and well worth our time. Thanks again MemorySeekers!

the whole region surrounding Pateley Bridge is wonderful, I never got the time or ability to actually drive out there on my own, I'd like to do that perhaps in the autumn when the weather is nice and mild 🙂

One of my childhood memories, is of Pateley Bridge, with Mum, Dad and my Brothers visiting this pretty Village. It seemed miles away but not far from our home in Leeds. How lucky were we, I still get the same feeling whenever I visit such a cosy and welcoming Village. A great video cheers.

Gobsmackedly beautiful place! The Yorkshire Dales are something that was mentioned in the James Herriot novels a number of times. Having seen this beautiful place, I understand completely why Alf Wight (aka James Herriot) was so taken by the beauty of this place. ❤️. Thank you again 💓 💖 💗
