Can you do My Native Moms DNA Results by CmanVlogga. I'd like to see how you interpret these results.

Yes I had to agree to transfer my Nat 2.0 DNA results to FTDNA before they shut down the site last year.

In your opinion, which one is best for figuring out ethnicity and more detailed descriptions?

I've enjoyed your videos. I agree with that finding out your geneology besides just your DNA. My niece did a geneology on our family after her doing DNA (23&me). My sister and my dad both took the same test and I took the Ancestry test, which I didn't like as much. What my niece found not only verified what came up on my sister's DNA test, but answered alot of questions we'd had about my mother's ancestry. It's kind of cool to be a "white" American and find that you have more than one line of African ancestry. However, the DNA tests of my dad and my niece also opened up a Pandora's Box of hidden skeletons in both my family tree and my ex-brother-in-law's. So now we differentiate between a genetic family tree and a familial family tree, which my husband espouses to because he's adopted.

So what are the differences between those two tests and say the Ancestry.com test?

Looks like he was using the continental average on the Nat Geo test thinking they were his own results, when he showed his at 4:23.

Hey can you help me with my dna. I’m 100% Somali (tribe I’m north east Africa). My paternal haplogroup is E-M5021 originates in the Balkans. And my maternal haplogroup is R0a which is from the Middle East. I’m fine with not having admixture I’m just not sure how that’s possible considering my haplogroups, if you or anyone could explain that would mean a lot thanks.

Edit: I used 23&me btw

Edit again: the guy said dna test could be vague, mine definitely was lol. My ancestry timeline only went back 1-2 generations

I did ancestry and I was told that I was 35 percent Nigerian then about a year later they did an update on my results and then I was told that I was 0 percent. Nigerian was my largest ethnic group by percentage on the first test. How can you make that kind of adjustment?

A question about maternal haplogroups; one company stated I am RO. The other company stated U4a1b. One company said high German DNA and the other said 55% Scots. Was I a changling? How can one person have such different results? Please advise.

Its important that it confirmed the families already known history because that means they're not just BSing. If they got it wrong then that means people who DON'T know their family history are being bamboozled. I plan on taking a test now bcuz i was skeptical of the results in the past. I did kinda think it was a scam. lol. But all my life ppl ask me if i'm even american because I dont look "regular" black. I get everything from Native American to Nigerian. Im quite curious and intrigued at this point because i was born and raised in philly with no connections at all to family that extended past a cousin on my mothers side. Father was adopted with no clue of his real family and my mothers mother died when she was just a child. So Im lost as Nemo. lololol. I have no clue where I'm from at all so Im def ready to find out.

I have questions: Why is it that everybody seems to be partly Ashkenazi? I'm 3%, myself. Is there a way to take my DNA results from MyHeritage and get a Neanderthal read on it? Can they do it?

People are funny, they are only happy with results that they themselves are comfortable with.

23andme for me was broad and didnt really tell me much. My heritage was alot more detailed and it actually matched gedmatch and other 3rd party sites ( mytrueancestry aswell) anyone know why this is ?

I enjoyed the video, what do you feel is the best test for a total newbie with a slight idea of where she is from to take? I know some of my family history(only up to great-grandparents) for my mother and my fathers mother but not much is known about my fathers dad's family.

I always wondered what a none-western family tree looks like, not sure if a video like that exist

So what do you do when records just don't show up? My grandparents are from Colombia and El Salvador and on both sides theres lines that just run dry at either my grandparent or great grandparents. What's weird is that they shouldn't run dry so quickly---Catholic church records are usually very good at least for births and I'm left with a situation of relying on names of my ancestry matches who are very distantly related from me. Some were slaves and native americans (maybe recent maybe distant ancestors?) which is another layer of weird on top of that. As well I have some Christian ancestors from Ottoman-era Palestine and like that's basically impossible to find records on as far as I can tell. It's a very weird situation and I'm not quite sure how to proceed given I have a little yet not enough to proceed off of.

Enjoyed the video! Please can you add ADVChina's DNA test video to the list? Despite them having produced some controversial content, their video is really in-depth and a unique take to the traditional DNA-testing.
