Only thing that confuses me is ... if I don't have a book deal yet, what should I do to build up a social media account? Like ... what would I even post/talk about? Do I have to be a Booktuber just to get traditionally published? 😅

As always, Alyssa, your videos are extremely helpful and well done. I have a question if you have time. Will agents or publishers want writers to be on social media, or can a writer just grow their newsletter and go on podcasts and interviews instead?

As someone who is deeply insecure about my appearance/weight (and is quite a bit older than the usual TikToker) I'm a bit anxious about filming myself on TikTok lol. How essential is it to have TikTok specifically for traditional publishing? Could I use something like Twitter or a blog instead?
