The year was 2003. Somewhere in a small town in Ghana 🇬🇭, I was on holidays from high school and went into a local music store to purchase a number of cassettes which were new albums from my favorites (R. Kelly, Busta Rhymes, Emin3m 😅 & a couple others). When my budget allowed me one more choice, I picked up Lenny’s One Desire. It was random. I’d never heard of him. I wasn’t born again...just a Catholic Church going girl used to hymns and rituals that meant almost nothing to me. Soon it/he became a favorite! I soaked in that album and sang those love songs to The Lord. I did not realize how powerful those moments were but I remember that I cried many times when I had it playing (that was intimacy with God...I thought I was simply experiencing a new and unexplainable emotion). I danced and was happy every time I played it (That was true joy...I thought it was just my love for good music and drama). I listened hard and pondered the lyrics (I was simply impressed with the song writing and it’s ability to stir up such a response in me).

I became born again a decade later. I realized recently that my deep love for worship and being in His presence isn’t new to my spirit or nature. I had briefly met the person I am today a decade+ ago and only got to become her in recent years.

Deep love of The Father and the knowledge and daily experience of His even wilder love for me is who I am. It’s who I was then and that’s who I’ll be forevermore.

Thank you sir! You gave me a special gift through this song and it’s complete album.

Yesterday I told my family that I dreamt that I told somebody I will sing ONE DESIRE and in my dream I kept on saying I will sing One Desire. I thought God wanted me to write a song.
