Tears of the Kingdom’s CONNECTION to Ocarina of Time…

You gotta love Ocarina of Time, I played it for the Zeldathon earlier this year and I can't believe how well it holds up today!

Zelda traveling to the past and sacrificing herself is Skyward Sword, a mysterious race of powerful sky people bring magical relics and work with the hylians to defeat an ancient evil is Minish Cap, The imprisoning war itself is A Link to the Past, Ganondorf swearing allegiance to the King is Ocarina of Time, and Ganondorf creating a dark clone of one of the main characters to terrorize people is Four Swords Adventures.

I have a couple theories that Oot and Totk are the same story but parts are changed because remember its the LEGEND of Zelda meaning its all just a legend or a story from the past which could mean that maybe some of the story was lost or changed over time.

Rauru, Sage of Light, and Rauru Sage of Light are both said to be ancient sages from the founding of Hyrule and helping build the Temple of Time. I'm pretty sure Rauru and Rauru are the same person. "bUt OnEs A hYlIaN" and he's a known shape-shifter

Also in the vow of fealty cutscene Ganondorf is accompanied by 2 Gerudo Women who wear golden masks. They have their names on their sashes and they translate to to the names of Ganondorfs twin mothered who later become twinrova in

Not to mention there’s an item named Poe in the ocarina of time game and one of the descriptions for a different item mentions something about six sages

I recently bought oot for my 3ds and I was just thinking the same thing! The loop and time loops are very present in both games!

Also, I was watching a channel play through Ocarina of Time (Ariah and Jay, they are lit) and I noticed several mechanical similarities. For one thing, TotK "gibdos" are essentially like OoT redeads and operate under very similar mechanics (even turning white when stunned).

The placement of faron woods, death mountain, ranch ruins, and zora's domain are roughly the same directions from the current castle like they were in oot. Lake hylia is still south of the castle. Kakariko village has an almost identical layout to oot's kakariko village but the incline to the other entrance/exit is on opposite sides. Botw's more natural terrain makes it harder to tell but walking around the two versions back to back helped me realize. Even the entrances are at the same elevations.

One of the memories was basically a recreation of the same moment where zelda and link were peaking through the window, except we as the player finally got to be in the room with the adults. To be honest, this is the closest retelling of oot we've ever gotten that isn't an ancient depiction of the events like in the other games, even down to rauru not acting more on zelda's concern with ganondorf. Even the twin dragons have been depicted in multiple zelda games before this: oot, tp, ss and the traveler's shield in botw/totk.

the enemies are really similar too. The gloom hands are like dead hand, and the gibdos are exactly like redeads.

I think it will be a OoT like game because ToTk was signified by the oroboros and is like new skyward sword kind of thing starting the time line over but that's just a theory a game theory

What surprised me is all the subtle link to the past references especially the all the connections between the underdark and the overworld
