Mitigation + Adaptation = Climate Action

The City of San Diego has worked intentionally to align resilience and sustainability planning and implementation to achieve ambitious the climate action goal of net zero GhG emissions by 2035 while thriving in a changing climate. The two plans developed over the past few years – Climate Resilient SD and the 2022 Climate Action Plan – work hand in hand to align both mitigation and adaption measures to accelerate the City’s progress. The City has invested its resources into two leadership teams focused on Sustainability and Resilience. The teams work interdepartmentally with each other and citywide to prepare for a changing climate. Join this session to hear from the City’s CRO and CSO as they discuss opportunities for mitigation and adaptation cross-pollination through various city departments.
