I watched it twice - and I understood the time jump in my second viewing. There wasn’t a single minute in the movie that I felt was wasted. It’s incredible!

Some of the dialogue was definitely going over my head, and I wasn't always getting the motivation of a few people, but yeah, pretty epic film making none the less! I doubt I would watch it again, but hope it smashes awards season!

Nolan is insane director imo cos no other director especially in today's era would dare to put a 3hrs biographical film in the middle of summer blockbuster. No wonder people hate Nolan especially on social media and want him to fail. Nolan is different compared to most modern director

Christopher Nolan and Denis Villeneuve are my two favorite directors, hands-down, anything that they produce I’m gonna go see because I know it’s going to be an amazing story with incredible visuals. What makes this different for me, and I have chills even talking about this, was back in 2008 I was debating nuclear weapons in college for the whole year. There were NPT treaty talks And I was able to sit on the UN floor listening to delegates discuss nuclear weapons proliferation and how their nation was involved in the nuclear conversation, whether it was for nuclear energy or for weapon proliferation. Now, 15 years later, this movie is coming out, and I am beyond excited for it! I’m seeing it today in Imax 70 at 5 PM and I am dying waiting for it.

I can’t wait to see this! I didn’t even know Florence Pugh was in it! Also I’m so happy with the comeback Josh Harnett has been making lately. Always been a big fan of Cillian Murphy and I’m so excited to see him take on this role. I got the book this was based on from the library so hopefully I can read most of it before I see the movie this weekend. I’m so glad you liked it and it’s just as great as it looks. I’m gonna see if I can listen to the soundtrack on Spotify 😂

The goods were definitely delivered. I was so impressed by the cinematography that I'd forgotten it was a Nolan movie. Nolan ALWAYS has a twist and I'd forgotten to look for it, so I wasn't ready for it AND IT GOT ME. There's a villain in here!

It's interesting seeing and reading all of the reviews coming out today--it seems like one of the most polarizing things about the movie is the structure. The Trinity Test/dropping of the bombs in Japan seems like the obvious climax of the film, but then it goes on for another 30-40 minutes. It seems like some people thought the momentum really slowed down after the Trinity Test, while others really enjoyed the thriller/courtroom drama aspect of the final act. It would have been so easy to end the movie with the crescendo of the actual bomb and immediate aftermath, so I think it's kind of interesting that Nolan subverts that expectation and really dives into Oppenheimer's perspective as the US government is trying to drag his name and reputation through the mud. As well as how the Manhattan Project and the bombing of Japan affected his perspective--at least that's what I seemed to gather from the reviews I've read.

I was hyped and man now you got me REALLY HYPED!

I was disappointed when I heard Hans Zimmer wasn’t doing the score. Then I heard some of the score and was blown away by how great it sounded.

Can’t wait to see it. Thanks for the review.

Nolan is a masterful filmmaker hes back with another thought-provoking film in Oppenheimer which breaks down the events of making developing nuclear weapons & executing plans to launch the atomic bomb. His career life was in jeopardy at risk if this experiment went so awry. Great Review my friend!

Enjoyed Oppenheimer. I do wish it was shorter as some storylines and characters could have been left out. That said, I loved the entire film. The cinematography and sound was amazing. Score was dope. Acting was amazing. I do wish they should footage of the impact on citizens on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to really illustrate the damage and death the Manhattan project lead to and the stakes for why he advocated so strongly for de-escalation and strong international atomic weapons commission to ensure nuclear proliferation did not happen. All that said, loved the film. Likely will see it again

The film made a few missteps, like the misleading trailers and the overly long trials and appointment hearings at the end. BUT it was quite a spectacle, that 70mm IMAX experience, the black and white, and the great sweeping scenery shots.

Great film. Not 5 out of 5. Not Nolan’s best work. 100% worth seeing in theaters, but it’s a slow burn. Definitely can tell it’s a 3 hour film.

My only problem with the film is the 3 hour runtime
