What effects will this new emissions standards for heavy duty engines have on our economy in the future?

Is there any way to make this change to net-zero and enforce extreme regulations without causing economic suffocation in the process?

In this video, Liam dives into all the steps that have been taken by The Environmental Protection Agency, Congress and the White House since March, that have put us on the doorstep of an overhaul of the trucking industry, all in an attempt to reach net-zero emissions.

DEF does plenty of harm to the environment but the environmentalist will never say anything about that.

I miss the 1991 Mack Superliner I once drove. Linkage from the foot feed directly to the injector body!

As currently state of the art, battery weight to power the heavy trucks, is about 70% of the permitted weight of the truck. Thus they would not be able to even meet their expenses.

Yeah there needs to be a law that prevents inflation of vehicle prices once rebates are being offered by the government

All these rules will ultimately decimate our industry, N America needs us as freight needs to move. Quite sadding, Biden administration needs to go as well the Canadian PM for prosperity to renew itself.

the only way to technologically reach whatever increasing emissions standard, would be to transition to diesel electric propulsion - like diesel electric locomotives. you halve the engine displacement, use a super-capacitor, and sodium-ion batteries...

How do North American truck emissions compare to European trucks and where would these proposed rules bring them to in relation to Euro trucks? Are they worse, better or equal?

It says a lot when so many people don’t know the difference between nitrous oxide and oxides of nitrogen. Oxides of nitrogen are the emissions that they are wanting to curb.

Instead of the government giving free $$ for buying new trucks that the manufacturers would do as you said in the video, why wouldn’t it make a lot more sense, to give the free $$ to truckers to get their trucks done up to where they need to be, in order to pass the legal requirements of emissions? Keeping their trucks well maintained and serviced already goes a LONG way, to both help keep emissions down, plus, getting better mileage! That alone would be a win-win situation to start with, for everyone! Plus, the places truckers haul to & from, need to up their pay scales, (per mile, ) &, bad brokers need to be weeded out, so the truck drivers stop getting scammed out of most of their $$!!!

They do realize that air circles the planet? Why don't they start some place else where factories burning coal with out filters or something 🤔

There have been technology that would have given lower emissions and beter fuel economy that inventers could not market because government mandated emission controls that we now have make the manufacturing industry oil companies and truck dealers more money.
