Lynn M. Paltrow, J.D., is the Founder and Executive Director of National Advocates for Pregnant Women (NAPW). Ms. Paltrow is a graduate of Cornell University and New York University School of Law. As Executive Director of NAPW, Ms. Paltrow combines legal advocacy, public education, grassroots and national organizing, research, and policy work to secure the human and civil rights, health and welfare of all women, focusing particularly on pregnant and parenting women, and those who are most vulnerable to state control and punishment – low income women, women of color, and drug-using women. She is a frequent guest lecturer and writer for popular press, law reviews, and peer-reviewed journals. Ms. Paltrow is also a Gemini and mother of twins.
Emma Roberts has worked for the Harm Reduction Coalition as a training consultant since 2009, and became a Capacity Building Manager in 2014. Her focus is to provide technical assistance and support to programs promoting syringe access, drug user health, Hepatitis C services and overdose prevention. Originally from the UK, Emma started her career in community development work in 1990 and became involved in harm reduction work in 1996. She has managed and led various community-based programs including Getaway Girls, a young women's charity for 7 years. Prior to her work with the Harm Reduction Coalition, Emma coordinated a syringe exchange program and mobile health program providing medial and dental services to vulnerable street-based and homeless populations in NYC.
Jenifer Talley, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at The New School for Social Research and Assistant Director of The Center for Optimal Living. She is a clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of substance use and trauma in women. She incorporates mindfulness-based interventions in her work and developed the Harm Reduction Psychotherapy Certificate Program with Dr. Andrew Tatarsky at The New School for Social Research.
Andrew Tatarsky, PhD, developed Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy for treating the spectrum of risky and addictive behavior. His approach brings together psychoanalysis, CBT and mindfulness in a harm reduction frame. He is Director of the Center for Optimal Living in NYC; founding member and Past-President, Division on Addiction of NY State Psychological Assn., member of the Board of Moderation Management Network, Inc., founding board member, Association for Harm Reduction Therapy, and clinical advisor to the NY State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. He is Professor of Clinical Practice in the Harm Reduction Psychotherapy Certificate Program at the New School for Social Research, and consultant at the NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. His book, Harm Reduction Psychotherapy: A New Treatment for Drug and Alcohol Problems has been translated into Polish and Spanish.
