Love this! I’m going to transition onto solar in northern Ohio, Lord willing. I’m mapping out the best place to start that will be most cost-effective, and cause the least inconvenience for my family’.

Looks great! You mentioned that running the conduit is the hardest part. I find that it's between that and figuring out the initial layout. What I've ended doing in past installations, especially in tight spaces is using cardboard to cut out the exact dimensions of each piece and then taping them on the wall. Seems silly, but it helps you get a visual idea of actual usable space.

Looking forward to part 2! Thanks!

When I installed my solar I removed all drywall off the wall I choose for mounting it. I then installed 2” x 6” lumber between the studs at the proper heights for all equipment. Now you can use all space as you know it is supported well. The only other thing I noticed was the ground mount being so close to the ground (panels) mine have a 2’ clearance. I guess just my personal preference.
All in all looks good Eric.

Awesome video. When are you going to show one on extending your bright mount? Have a super blessed day.

What is the total height of the installed equipment?

so are the panels just all wired in series, no combiner box needed, 10 gauge wire run to inside ? that's it.

I live in southern Arizona and while we do not get much rain we do get several hail storms each summer month. Do you know of a way to get sun to the panels and also protect from hail?

Did you hear about the new Devices Eg4 just released? A new 12xp, the Flexboss and Gridboss. I'm very curious about them. One of those seems like a Smart Home Panels of sorts

Great video! Question, what's the make and model of the manual transfer switch, and where did you purchase it?

great video as always, how did you cover the rectangular hole (knockout) from the battery conduit box? I made the same mistake and removed it and now I have that big hole in the back. Thanks

I hate that EG4 keeps coming out with better and better products, after installing the 6500EX's then upgrading to the 6000xp's now they have the 12k and neater batteries, I can't keep up LOL. But with that said, I like ( and did) to put up a piece of 3/4 inch plywood and anchor that to the studs then put the hardy board on top. That way I can mount anywhere and not have to worry about finding a stud even for heavy loads.

If all you are doing is using it as a short term backup its a good system. But anything longer than a day or two and that system is not going to be big enough to run the loads that they have deemed critical. Nowhere near enough generation capacity.
