Life is so short. We only have so much time to travel, and the fleeting, ephemeral nature of life became more apparent than ever, when we visited the Paris catacombs. As Paris grew into its a role as a major European hub, it eventually ran into a major problem: its cemeteries were overflowing. The solution arose to place them in the centuries-old catacombs that had existed beneath the streets of Paris since the 13th century.

❓ Answer to the trivia question at the end of the video: "The tunnels that would go on to make up the Catacombs weren’t originally meant to be used as a mass grave, they were, in fact, created by old quarry miners.
