Another beautiful piece, I'd be honored to own and carry this pen daily. Great work brother.

I've looked at woodworking links on YouTube, they're always interesting. However, this is the first showing a writing instrument-a pen being make. Very good. Thanks.

Some good old Aussie burl! It’s so good to turn. Eucalyptus burl, Mallee burl, Red Mallee burl. Beautiful pen!

That came out nice. Have a look at getting yourself a Mandrel Saver, as I noticed when you were turning that you get a very slight deflection in the Mandrel, that way you can do away with the Brass Nut. Lately, I've been turning between centre's, well almost, I use the Mandrel with enough sticking out to hold the Bushing while a cone live centre hold the other end, but it does mean only one part can be turned at a time like you did here. When I assemble pens I use a metal carpenters vice that I've attached plastic jaws (a cheap cutting board) to, to stop marring the materials. I do the same with applying finish, as in using the steel bushing, but to help prevent the finish from sticking, with the Lathe running I hold a stick of Bee's wax against the bushing just to give it a thin coating of wax. Then I sand the ends like you do. Thanks for sharing, lovely burl, I'm going to have to check all the White Gum logs I have from tree's we cut down and check them for Burls.

I absolutely love your video. I feel lucky to have found them. They are great. Question do you have a video or plans on making the rotisserie jig you use ? I would really like to make one. Keep the vids coming. I look forward to them

What did you do to your fingers...? You should wear gloves while you still have fingers.... Tape on one finger and a couple large scrapes on another. I enjoy watching the videos.

For the beginner pen turner suggest wearing gloves when gluing the insert w CA glue. Also good to wrap finger tips with scotch tape to prevent CA glue from sticking.
