That whirring sound you hear is Rudolf Bing spinning in his grave....

This is...something. I don't want to judge this piece without having seen it, but I really wonder how they can handle with appropriate sensitivity and care the fact that the US was responsible for an illegal invasion and committed many, many war crimes which have never been answered for. Perhaps there is a way that opera can handle that subject, but I'm not yet convinced that this piece is not in very poor taste.

I need to see this. It sounds scandalous.

Some never get enough of war! I hope I'm wrong because this is just a snippet from the whole.

😂😂 The Met banishes bel canto for broadway to make a few bucks complete with “jazz hands”. 😂😂

Gelb must be fired for subverting the purpose and the legacy of the once great Metropolitan opera. How many more millions will he piss away on schlock like this and Marnie and Brett Dean’s Hamlet and the Exterminating Angel and Akhenaten. These wrecks have no staying power and no musical appeal, and the Met dares raise its prices to absurd heights and gives us little, if anything, in return.
