This song encapsulates how I’ve been feeling for a while. As we age it feels we get farther from the ease of happiness. The effort it now requires feels suffocating at times, as our self awareness grows as we do. It’s now a conscious effort to maintain happiness, and sometimes that work feels fleeting at best. I’ve come to realize “the door” isn’t a destination, person, or possession. “The door” is you, and sometimes you have to find your way back to yourself no matter how many times you lose YOU, because that’s the eternal way.
