Derren Brown's extraordinary television shows have re-defined magic, illusion and psychological manipulation, while Nina Conti’s unique act combines superb ventriloquism with the art of comedy.

Both performers use time-honoured techniques and could have comfortably graced the earlier theatres celebrated in the British Library’s ‘Victorian Entertainments: There Will Be Fun’ exhibition.
