On one of Switzerland's hottest July days in 2024, I set out to finally summit Wildstrubel (3,244m), a peak I'd admired for years but never climbed. Wildstrubel is known as one of the easier 3000-ers in Switzerland, requiring no glacier crossings or climbing skills—perfect for hikers seeking high-altitude beauty without technical challenges.
Starting in Lenk, the trail led me through a lush forest, along the Simme River to its source at the "sibe Brünne," and then up to the picturesque Flueseeli. From here, I found a perfect campsite at 'bi de rote Steine' (2,500m). The next day, the well-marked trail took me to the south peak of Wildstrubel and onward to the isolated Mittelgipfel, where I enjoyed true alpine solitude.
In winter, this mountain is popular with ski tourers who descend its slopes with ease. But for me, the summer hike revealed a stunning side of Wildstrubel—a place of lush valleys, serene alpine lakes, and breathtaking zen moments.
I’m truly grateful to have had this experience and hope to share its beauty with you in this video. If you enjoyed it, don’t forget to like and subscribe for more adventures. If you have questions about the hike, comment below, and I’ll be happy to help!
