At 1:11:15, Justin's point about the action deck being genius is really true.
A couple days ago, I played Blood and Plunder and the cards for activation really dialled-up the fun factor. Two forces of 4 units, one reduced to 2 and losing badly. It switched strategy from offence to very strong defence, and deliberately losing initiative with clubs or diamonds. So, defensive response combined with the higher activation points was a superior plan and in the end, with a few spades thrown in to try regain initiative when critically necessary, won the game for that losing force. Although, we jumped the 6-turn rule and took the game to 10 turns. It took longer, but wow is Blood and Plunder SO FUN. :)

Loved the game board and getting a good look at actual land combat. When I did a demo of the game at gen con last year it was the ship to ship combat.
