I'm an old lady. When i introduce LP to others, i know the ones who will firstly...see. Then...hear. and then miss the lyrics and the sheer joy of LPs voice. So, i play again, and make them listen, not just hear. I have no interest in who or what people are or are not, i just enjoy what i enjoy, irrespective of identity, although i respect others, i just accept people for who they are. LP and a few others i love listening to and viewing, i do so for the sheer joy of their talent, but it so much more than talent, for me. Thats what true Artists, performers etc are: the whole package. As well as being absolutely wonderful souls. Just enjoy them, and how we feel doing so. 😽

Dear LP, listening to this song brings tears to my eyes. But not for the reason you and your many amazing fans might think. What you stand for and what you mean to so many will always be incredibly special and iconic. Your body of work is amazing. But what has happened to you? Only a few years ago, you were still writing incredibly powerful, varied, uplifting, moving and different songs. Songs that caught the imagination, with lyrics and melody that showed a singer and songwriter at the very height of their ability. Maybe most if not all fans who revere you so much will adore everything new you create. Maybe those around you will say everything you create is fantastic. If so, you are not around the right people. It breaks my heart to look back at the last year or so of new songs. They are all such pale imitations of what you created before. In this one, it’s as if lyrics don’t even matter if the chorus has a good sentiment and the melody does not have the same intricacies and variations as before. No-one will ever see this post and if they do, will assume I’m being critical of you as a person or of the communities you so wonderfully represent, or the essential meaning of the songs. But I’m not. The LP I was blown away by - and still am - wrote astounding works of art. Not all sounding the same or meaning the same, not all duplicating the same beat or a similar vibe. Muddy Waters. Lost On You. Tightrope. When We’re High. Other People. Girls Go Wild. One That You Love. Recovery. Tokyo Sunrise. Shaken. Suspicion. Just to name a few. How much you have blessed us as an artist like no other. Where has that visionary, unique and inspirational writer and singer gone? Is it enough for you that your fans will love whatever you produce, even if not to the highest of highs as before? Is it enough if you are still able to produce albums that a rightly devoted fan base will buy anyway? If so, fair enough. Your reputation proceeds you and entitles you to all the love and support in the world. But you are capable of so much more on every level - and I say that because you have shown us that over and over again. Do you really feel these newer songs are up there with your best? You’ll never see this so it is only wasted words on my part. But it breaks my heart because you are capable of so much more. Quality over quantity is a saying for a reason. Please, give yourself the time and space to regain the absolute genius of what you can do when the muse really touches you. The world needs you - but only your greatest will break through again. Wishing you - and your amazing fans - the very best. ❤
