Oh, I adore when artists give their own unique interpretations of a role!
- Marianela emphasizes Giselle's delicateness and sweetness. You can feel her delicate heart beating in the pauses. Giselle's so sweet, gentle and pure. This makes her mad scene even more shocking, when, at times, she's out of control, crazy and frightening.
- Natalia emphasizes Giselle's joie de vivre. Giselle loves to dance and finally gets to in front of nobles! I imagine Giselle's heart racing and face flushed in the end, feeling like she's flying. This makes her mad scene even more sad, where she seems like she's having a cruel epiphany about life.
I adore both of these ballerinas and deeply admire them!

I tried to watch both but Osipova kept stealing my attention! She is truly incredible, such an actress and everything flows so beautifully. Both are beautiful but Osipova just hooks the audience and you cant look away!

I prefer Osipova's Variation, more complicate, more on music and I love her personality and interpretation. However I would like to say that Nunez is beautiful with her crystalline technique. 😊

I think Osipova is so captivating because she knows how to move the fabric of her outfits, which catches the eye and makes her movements look so much more dynamic. She flicks her skirt in sync with her movements, it's very impressive on top of all the other ways she's outstanding in technique and acting. Beautiful.

They are both such incredible dancers! I think Osipova takes it for me in this role - I love her in roles as young women falling newly in love. Give me Nuñez as Odette/Odile anyday though. 💗 It is so exciting being a Londoner and having them both at the Royal Ballet!

Comparing is never a great idea. They are both sublime artists. Stylistically, Nunez is more pure and accurate, but there is an undeniable energy to Osipova that is exciting to watch. She takes everything as far as it can go and that makes her compelling to watch. I was more drawn to her performance as a result.

Both are lovely Giselles, but I love Nunuz's grace and how she finishes each movement.

Nela is simply perfect in everyway. The way she controls every movement, the way she floats in the space, and the way she gathers the audience’s gaze on every single one of her moves is fascinating . Her feather like gestures are beyond me. She purposely slows down to make sure the audience sees every peak moment of the dance segment and give them all the time they need to digest this beauty. She knows the dance too well therefore it was no trouble for her to know what the spectators want to see and to give them a mesmerizing show. What a goddess she is... ;-;

La Nunez è brava ma non quanto l 'Osipova. Natalia esprime tutta la felicità, la gioia di vivere, di una contadina innamorata nel fiore della sua età, tra l'altro la sua tecnica è perfetta. La passione che ci mette è travolgente più di un tornado. Adoro quel momento dopo l' ultimo giro che ha uno sguardo un po' perplesso, come se si stesse chiedendo "forse mamma ha ragione, magari sto correndo troppo" e quando si rialza sembra rispondersi da sola "ma no" e ricomincia la sua gioia immensa. Tutti questi elementi rendono ancora più tragica la scena della follia (talmente commuovente che fa venire la pelle d' oca). Infinito su 10. A parer mio è la migliore ballerina del mondo e il ruolo di Giselle è quello che incarna meglio. No, lei non è Natalia Osipova, lei è Giselle stessa, per lo meno sul palco. Grazie per il video.

Osipova is a perfect Giselle. Just beautiful - sweet, joyful, and spontaneous, as if she's not dancing to choreography, but just feeling the music and making something up on the spot, a happy peasant girl who loves to dance and is in love for the first time. My only nitpick is that I dont like when Giselles change the choreography to show off on the little hops en pointe. I also don't know why her shoes look dead in absolutely every performance lol - looks like she needs a more resistant model of shoe.
