I have them, but I don't use them enough to remember how to use them, it takes me a few minutes.

I run it through the center of the ratchet then back through and haven't had an issue in 20+ years....6 in one, half dozen in the other i suppose...

my first construction job was hauling lumber…looked like an idiot my first 2-3 trips till if figured out how to use them 😂

trust me these are not frustrating. these are heaven. try using what is the large trailer equivalent of an IBV45-1 strap, tug and push until its tight. so much easier to ratchet the strap to tightness.

I simply went through the slot and over to where both ends were touching and cranked the lever until the sofa on the roof of my sedan was secured.

Just stick it through the middle and crank a couple times, it’ll go where it needs to be them pull the loose end til is almost right like you said..

Negative.
Just go straight thru from back to front.
When you go to take it off, you pull on the bitter end at the same time as the working end, and it completely unspools itself from the rachet.
NOW, you look like a super-trucker.

Pro tip, if you go thru the slot and over the drum you can use your thumb to poke it back thru the ratchet and you don't have to look at what you're doing.
