As an American who's been living in Australia for almost 14 years now, this video hits different. It's as if I am watching my internal dialogue give a Ted talk over the past 14 years. I was born in the US but at the point I consider my self Australian. I say mate more than some Aussies I know, C*** no longer shocks me as it does Americans. I've been part of many Aussie Aussie Aussie chants and I've burnt the ever living hell out of my mouth because I didn't bother letting my meat pie from the servo cool down before shoving it in my gob.

Getting the pronunciation of Emu correct gets you a Golden Wombat sticker. You're on your way to being a true Honorary Aussie. All that's missing now is you making the trip down here. Good on ya mate!

What's even better than you learning about Australia is that your whole family are learning about it! Your little ones are growing up with 3 cultures! ☮️💞🙂🇦🇺

Ian, between your "How ya goin'?" intro and correct pronunciation of "eee-mew" we could not love you more. Happy Australia Day to our favourite honorary Aussie 🇦🇺☺

He's right about the trees too. Not only are eucalyptus very flamable, a lot of them will drop a branch without warning.

To clarify shrimp and prawns are actually two distinct animals. Though both belong to the family of marine life called Decapod crustaceans, the various types of shrimp each fall under the suborder Pleocyemata, while prawn species belong to the Dendrobranchiata suborder. Prawn has three pairs of legs while shrimp has only two however, at the end of the day Australians don't care and call them both prawns.

That bloke must have spent a lot of time with his Aussie friend, his sense of humour has rubbed off on him. This is a very funny video and incredibly accurate. Keep up the good work Ian.

As an Aussie I found that mostly accurate and funny and as a side note today is Australia Day

That was the most accurate depiction of Australians I have ever seen on YouTube. And it was up to date. Hooray!

This is the best American info video on Australia out there. The vast majority was pretty accurate and it was funny too. Also thank you pronouncing emu properly Ian. Your a bloody legend 👏 😂

I really enjoyed that. Wow, your Aussie pronunciation is excellent Ian, we're so proud of you! I think we should dub you an honourary Aussie, on this Australia Day! Thanks

I’m an Aussie with an American accent. The reason for that is that I’ve been a teacher at American international schools overseas for 25 years. Every time I go home for a visit, I’m asked the same question, you guessed it ( are you from the USA ).

As an ACTUAL Australian, that was good . Old Mate there actually DOES get it and understand . As do you Ian . Lotsa Fun .

Ian your knowledge of Australia is incredibly impressive. And I have learned so much about my own country through some of the videos you react to. No word of a lie, you know more about Australia than a good amount of Aussies.

Well done Ian, for an American Citizen you’ve become a True Australian….you’ve listened, learned and taken in everything about our culture…. I know you would probably never leave the US but you would fit right in here in Australia…..🇦🇺👍.
