My grandmothers Betty Crocker cookbook from 1963 has an Apple Pie with Cheese recipe. I've helped her make it numerous times over the past 3 decades for family get togethers. I've honestly never thought "Oh, wow, this tastes like cheese" it just melds with the crust and apples and it tastes great.
