A long-overdue tribute to a forgotten hero

For decades, the descendants of Gam Gantam Dora, a valiant tribal leader and right-hand man of Alluri Sitarama Raju, lived in poverty, forgotten despite his sacrifices. On 17th Feb 2025, NCC Limited’s CSR initiative provided 11 free two-bedroom flats in Battapanukula, Andhra Pradesh, restoring their dignity.
Inaugurated by Mr. AS Dinesh Kumar (IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, ASR Dist, AP), Dr. AS Durga Prasad (Board Chairman, NCC Limited), and Mr. AGK Raju (Executive Director, NCC Limited), this project honors tribal families’ role in India’s freedom struggle, ensuring a secure, dignified home with support from the Andhra Pradesh government.
