Thanks for sharing your expertise. This is the ONLY video I have seen demonstrating the layout, cutting, and welding in the fender well. Well done, a pleasure watching you work your magic.

I often look at my front fenders and think I'll have a crack at making them more perfect one day. Now I know what it takes, they look great the way they are.

Very interesting. There is a lot more that goes into repairing these fenders than most people realize! I just repaired some 29 fenders and it is very time consuming. Thanks for the video. You should do more Model A vids!

One more thing (if you didn't already know), that right rear sedan fender you were using for parts has a dimple in the inner apron. That feature was only found on 1931 Sedans to clear a bolt that held the rear valence panels on Victorias and Slant-Window sedans. My late 1931 Tudor has them too, as did all other sedans in 1931.

It's interesting watching his work and detail. In the 60's I hated body filler. I worked across from a well known body shop who got late deliveries at the gas station where I worked. For curiosity, I carried the gallon buckets of filler over. They were working on a new damaged Cadillac, using a Bondo type filler.
After that, I stopped using lead and used Bondo filler on small defects too. I still have cars with a Bondo type filler I used years ago.

Enjoyed watching. Nice to get some pro tips on the metal work needed to restore old Model A fenders. I had my body guy install a well in my fender many years ago. He was alarmed when I asked him to cut up a nice fender to insert the well, but the template that came with the well (From Rick's Model A in Shawnee Kansas) was right on and the installation looked factory when he was finished

Snyders supply the correct bead liner for right & left fenders, made in Denmark, & they make repairing original fenders a dream. It runs the full length from front to back & looks original. Sometimes welding & trimming & cutting & banging just doesn't cut it.

My grandfather that passed away taught me how to do lead body work and stuff he taught me a whole bunch of tricks how to make Dubai like do instead of feeling it with bond to fill it with lead with steel mixture in it and get rid of the car and make more money out of it but that's what my great my grandfather taught me how to do the same stuff that you're talking about doing right now

FANTASTIC! How can I email you? I'm going to try doing wells on my 31 Deluxe Roadster. But I need the position for cutting the fender. Thanks

I have a 1930 ford sedan 2 doors model A, is coming with one spare tire in the driver side, but I didn't see another one like that is that part of this car? Also do you know any used parts web site? Thank you

And your opinion on why these fenders get so damaged is another reason why The Ford A Model, in any configuration, IS NOT the best American car ever made, as someone on another Youtube site suggests. Easy to fix, easy to restore & easy to damage because of how the car drives. Built for a purpose in the 30's & that's about it!
