AMD just announced at Computex that they will be selling APUs directly to consumers on August 5. 5600G - $259 & 5700G - $359

I've been trying to get a 2400G or 3400G for awhile to make a cheap APU system but they're going for stupid ridiculous prices right now. The GPU shortage will make it so that any decent igpu solution that comes out will likely be constantly out of stock or marked up to stupid high prices 😑 Mad props to you for dropping that much money just to get the chip to showcase it to everyone

This tells me AMD is bullshitting. They have a badass APU up their sleeves but are waiting andr using the planned obsolescence model. They don't wanna pull away from their GPU sales

Apple's m1 is in 5nm while ryzen 5600g is in 7nm and even having a older node the 5600g almost beats the m1

I had to get my 5600G in a prebuilt from HP @BestBuy.. HP really kneecapped this poor chip by the bios on the Mobo, and memory config, but I'll be testing it in a custom build, soon. Even with matched memory, the HP would only get about 35-45 FPS in most modern titles (no eSports games tested yet). Also managed to snag a 4350g to test.

I spent like 3 minutes of staring at my screen mouthing "But why though?" at the lack of a display out... why not just use a 5600X or 3600. Why waste an APU in a system like that?

HP’s website has HP Pavilions with the 5xxxG series. And they are cheaper than the Omens.
I know like World of Warcraft is just about the only game that is directly ported to M1 so far, but it would be interesting to see the difference in gaming GPU performance between the M1 and Ryzen.

The current situation is unprecedented and not going away for some time yet, I have bought an entire AlphaSync PC just for a RTX 3070, 1449.99 with a 3700x 16 gig 1TB nvme etc, not to bad considering the Graphics card alone is hitting 1k on eBay right now.

Just FYI..I use 4650G for Dota2. I get 100-140 @1080 high. This chip saved me a ton of money not having to buy a gpu as I only play this game.

I can't wait to get it, c'mon AMD... But here (Brazil) 3400g and 4650g prices are rising fast as f, I don't want to imagine how much a 5600g will cost.
