I just got one from 2013 with an LR Baggs Anthem pickup and it sounds AWESOME!!! Best sounding acoustic guitar I have ever played.

I just bought an M-36 the other day, and I've been watching this video several times a day waiting for it to come in. Makes me look forward to it even more!

I had a chance to play a M-36 a couple of weeks ago. I was very surprised. I'm a dreadnought fan but this would be the first guitar I'd take if I wanted something different. The M-36 can hold its own against any dreadnought. Impressive instrument.

pretty much an oversized OM with a three piece back, long scale and no frill appts.
-I almost bought one 25yrs ago when I knew nothing about acoustics but wanted a Martin guitar that was not a dreadnaught!
I more recently purchased a Martin OOO-42 shorter scale, much frill, great tonal balance, and am very pleased with it ❣

I bought my M36 in 2008 and have used it in many of my videos on my channel. You have certainly done it justice! Beautiful playing! I love the thinner body-size and easy action combined with its deep, gorgeous sound! I get many questions about this guitar from viewers and now I can send them here for more info! <3 Babs

That last chord sounds like it could have gone on forever. Nice clear bass tone. :)

Incredible bass and medium . The treble sound is less present. With the total harmony it's was a five ⭐ Martin. (l got one from 1991. Even with this little flaw l love it!)

Mark, always enjoy your playing and demos - and really love these 0000 size Martins! I have a D-35 and am thinking about an M-36 to go with it. Love the toner on the top, too!

I bought the Harley Benton Custom Line CLD-41S, which is the most beautiful and best guitar of the company. It costs 249 € here in Germany. Beautiful and she looks like a Martin D-41 3600 €. The sound is just beautiful :-)
Kind regards from Germany, Berlin Jörg
Sorry for maybe bad translation

Wow this thing looks amazing. The body shape sort of looks like an oversized Martin 000

Regarding the question: Size-wise: How does an M-36 compare to an HD-28? Martin dreadnoughts are noticeably thicker (max. body depth is like 4 7/8" for an HD-28, as opposed to 4 1/8" for an M-36). The M-36 is very slightly longer (40 5/8" vs 40 1/2") . Both have the 25.4 scale length. Notes: The "M" body size is larger than the "000" or "OM" sizes; I believe the first M-36s & M-38s were made using the very same body molds that Martin used when the were making F-Model archtops in the 30's.
