I am not angry. I am irate. I am foaming in the mouth. I am homicidal. I am suicidal. I am humiliated, debased, degraded. And I am not only that, I feel like throwing up to be living my middle years in a country of this nature. I am nauseated. I spit on the face of Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban and his cohorts in the Supreme Court, I am no longer interested in the position [of Chief Justice] if I was to be surrounded by idiots. I would rather be in another environment but not in the Supreme Court of idiots - MIRIAM DEFENSOR SANTIAGO

I concur with CJ Panganiban's legal analysis that Causes of Action 2 and 3 of Marcos Petition must be dismissed and therefore Robredo is the winner. Cause 2 is dismissed based on Rule 65 and Cause 3 is dismissed based on PET's lack of jurisdiction to annul an election. CJ argued however, that due process must be observed before the petition is dismissed that is, requiring both parties to submit their comments which makes sense and that the Supreme Court must adopt a Rule conferring jurisdiction to PET the power to annul election contest based on fraud which PET doesn't possess at this time. CJ however left a vacuum that assuming arquendo that the Supreme Court adopts a Rule conferring PET the power to hear and annul election contest, the Rule cannot be applied retroactively to
Marcos v. Robredo case for to do so would violate the Constitution. Macalintal should have filed a motion to dismiss Marcos third cause of action earlier on which he did not do for PET's lack of jurisdiction. In the same vein, the Marcos camp should have filed a petition with the COMELEC or the SC to annul the election based fraud since PET has no power to do so But the Marcos camp did not. In conclusion blame the lawyers in creating this mess.

3 years from another national election and seems that VP Robredo seems to do good in her job as mandated by law. Can Mr. Marcos be just mindful enough to help others by not being an elected officer? Can he just be a good sport and help the nation to really speed up the improvement of our country. Defeat is hard to accept when you cannot find good in it. God bless Philippines.

This is a great interview. CJ was on point explaining in the most simplest words what is happening and what are the possibilities of the case. Although if case 3 is going to be heard and advanced upon, the ending is always re-election and not a nullification of votes.
