I started lifting at 13, reached a 425 bench & 600 pound deadlift by my early 20's and was stuck at those numbers for more than a decade. At 35 I had life threatening illness and lost all my strength and a ton of bodyweight. Now I'm 40 with novice numbers, I'm not gonna lie it sucks. But regardless of my numbers I'm never gonna stop. I'm a lifer!

I'm 15 years old and serious about lifting, here are my goals in order:
>reach 12% body fat
>ohp my own bodyweight
>get 17inch arms
>become a fitness influencer with atleast a few thousand followers
>establish a gym
>help atleast 1 person reach their dream body
>reach the natty limit
>become a legend

I love how you lengthened the timeline to 10-20 years. I hear too many people talk about how you are nearing your max potential after 5-10 years. I definitely agree with 10-20. Great video Alex.

I'm 61, been training since high school. I'm in better shape than guys half my age, and can still go full beast-mode in the gym five or six days a week. Creatine and protein are the only supplements allowed in the temple. The older I get, the more difficult it is to hit the next the PR. But hit them I do. Maybe it's just a few pounds, maybe just an extra few reps, but it's so sweet when I get them. Even sweeter is knowing that I did it...myself. No roids, no hgh, .. just me! Commitment. Determination. Consistency. No excuses.

Great message and important information. Especially these days where it’s so easy for young people to be mislead by the wrong role models. I’m 43 and proud of being natty. I smash it 5x/week and I love it. Was I ever tempted? Sure! But I’m glad I stayed clean.

I’ve been killing it since 87. Gained 50 lbs of muscle. But it took forever. You have to Love the pain and pushing your body and taking it places most will never know. It’s awesome.
And yes, you can always gain a little more delt size, or calves or whatever. Never could train to just maintain.
Keep killing it and one day you’ll look in the mirror and there it is. All your hard work staring back at you.
It’s a brother hood.

Newbie gains are almost like watching the first half of movies like Goodfellas, Boogie Nights and Blow. Show up and enjoy the awesomeness. Afterwards isn’t like the second half of those movies, it’s more like writing your memoirs.

After three years I am pretty satisfied with my physique. I am more interested in varying forms of athlethisism instead. Though I still like bodybuilding and strategically building muscle for the sake of aesthetics.

Started lifting last October at 38yo. Went from a 225lbs bench to 340ish. I say ish cuz i've never maxed since I started and 315 goes up kinda easy. My warm up is doing singles or double till a bit over my working weight is why I have some idea. Now i do 225 for 14-16 reps. Not bragging at all, I've finally found something I love and it's exciting as hell. *Queue Eye of the Tigar* Getting stronger!!

But if you train 10 years naturally, why would you jump on roids, all the 10 years of natty work will be gone, people will see he took roids early
