That vulture droid is from the 2007 version
7660 with 266 pieces
Looks like 7877 used 264 pieces
And different minifigs but the still the same pieces. The only one that’s different is the new n-1 starfighter

I think I’ve built 3 or maybe all 4 variations throughout their releases, it’s a beautiful ship.

I’ve always felt the similarities were just a respect to the surprisingly well-designed first one.

I bet it's 2 naboo Starfighters' parts. One (the older set) was lost, so the original owner replaced it. But they still had a bunch of individual pieces.

Either that or they traded some parts with a friend for their version's stickers.

Lego did the same thing with the Dursley car in a couple of the Harry Potter sets, same car slightly different build style.

I had the same problem. Once I bought a massive 2007-2013 box of lego ( mostly lego star wars) I got 200€ figures like Commander Wolffe but I realised there were legs from an AT-TE in the box. I decided to rebuild myself but I look for HOURS trying to find the right instructions. I then realised it was the 2013 AT-TE because I got all figures from it. Cool Set!

I'm starting to feel that way about the last 3 iterations of the millennium falcon. You can only rearrange the same basic part list so many ways before you have to add something new, like a cockpit window or special piece.

I think you just explained why there are so many more legos vs. money spent on them = overproduction of the same theme and product which leads to wasted dollars and more work for ppl like this kind gentleman when it ends up donated

I love that fighter. Thats the one anakin flew into the trade federation battleship to blow it up. I always thought all the Naboo starships looked so organic and beautiful.
