I’ve seen HIM six times live. The last time was 2013, briefly got to meet Ville while he was taking pics with fans outside the tour bus. He was finishing up & boarding when I yelled “Ville”! He looked at me, waived & I pointed to my daughter who was standing silently, 4 inches from him. She had nothing to sign but got to shake his hand. Big deal for her. We were a bit late to the scene. Got tipped off by a fellow fan while we we’re exiting Volbeat. After the bus pulled away the security guard came over & spoke to me. I was the elder there, 43 at the time. He said, “ that guy stopped his own bus, got out & just started talking to these people. Took pictures with them. Talked to their friends on the phone, just incredible. I’ve worked this venue for 30yrs & I’ve seen a lot of performers. I’ve never seen a performer do that.” I was a little pissed that I didn’t get a chance to get a photo but I was really happy for some of the others that did. One kid had just turned 21, huge HIM fan, never seen them live & drove over 350 miles to the show. I missed the farewell show. Still bummed to this day. Hearing the new stuff gives me hope I may once again get to see this guy perform live. Hopefully, it will be with a reunited HIM.
