Anyone who is seeing this movie should read 'Jambula Tree', the short story that served as inspiration for this movie

Movies about rape, killing and even worse stuff are allowed to watch but not a beautiful meaningful movie about same sex? Sometimes I hate this world so damn much

Yay Wanuri! Yay Kenya! Sucks that we won't get to see this in our own cinemas. 100% getting banned by those prudes over at KFCB.

This movie is so so so important, i can’t even explain it. It’s such a shame that we won’t be able to see it at home.
There are people who have been waiting for a movie like this for so long. I hope this movie gets colossal amounts of hype, a wild, mind blowing amount of attention. It looks like a beautiful movie with a wonderful, powerful message.
It deserves it.

Watching this for the 2nd time and still have mad respect for these beautiful lesbian women. They were brave enough to try and tell a story that many don't want to about the struggles of the lgbt community in kenya. Though many may still not understand that love is lovely, doesn't matter whether straight or gay, I still applaud them. God bless you ladies.

It took great courage to create such a film. Bravo to the filmmakers and cast who were brave enough to share this story. It's quite sad to see how there is still so much hate in the world. Love is Love!

I'm here because of hearing about KFCB banning this film. They have now made it popular and many will watch, before I had never heard about this film... High quality video work.

Saw this on Friday. This film is a work of art, and every member of the cast and crew played their role masterfully. <3

this looks it's so horrible that actual KENYANS can't see it in their own cinemas, but it's great that a kenyan film is (finally!) getting shown at cannes. and a lesbian one too!
