ZF’s lightweight truck with aerodynamic trailer

ZF’s lightweight truck is a fuel-saving truck-trailer prototype, designed for energy-efficient driving. It combines a lightweight design and aerodynamics measures with optimized chassis space offering major benefits for future electrification strategies. Thanks to aerodynamic improvements at the rear and sides, 7 percent savings in fuel costs can be achieved. The additional OptiLevel system automatically controls ride height to improve fuel economy. And with lightweight construction measures, it can achieve 150 kg weight savings in the tractor alone, which allows for increased payload.
