At the end of the day these men were HUMANS THAT JUST WANTED TO LIVE. There is nothing wrong with wanting to preserve your own life. I feel like it was unfair to guilt men into going down with the ship. It’s so sad.

As a woman, there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to live. Women dont matter more or less than men, all the men on that ship deserved to live just as much as the women and it breaks my heart they werent allowed to. Not to mention male children as young as 8 years old were considered young adults who had to work and act like men, so they werent allowed on the lifeboats.

If I was a man then absolutely, I’m young and have dreams and aspirations like everyone else, why don’t I deserve to live? I would like to say that I wouldn’t take a child’s place but if I was actually in a life threatening situation I would put my own life above everyone else’s without thinking about it, unfortunately I’m not as angelic as some other folks

I would have 1000% put my husband in a dress if I would’ve had to. Because there would’ve been no way I would’ve gotten off that ship without him. So either we both would’ve gone down with the ship or we both would’ve been in a boat growing away. But we’ve talked about this and we both said how we probably would’ve grabbed something that could float like a chair or some thing into the water, jumped in, and just kept paddling and moving until we can get closer to a rowboat and if they wouldn’t let us on at least we could be next to it so that when the rescue ship came we would be right there with them. Plus we figured people wouldn’t let us just freeze in the water next to them eventually they would pull us aboard.
