SP542 Spark Plugs Install (Gen2 Ford F150 Raptor)

Показать описание
We tested several plugs from the OE SP550, factory Gapped SP542's, NGK and back to the SP542's gapped at 0.028 along with stock map and COBB Stage 1 and Stage 2 with FMIC and CAI...

So far, we have found that there are no differences in performance from going with either of the plugs. One of the Coil Packs failed on us a couple of weeks ago, but aside of that, we did not run into any issues or experienced any lack of performance from going through the different plugs.

The SP 542's were recommended and gapped by GH Tuning.
I personally recommend, if you go to a colder plug, to change them every 12k miles.

If you have any questions or need help with your Raptor or truck build, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Ford said I needed new spark plug boots and plugs tried to charge me 450. I’ll just do it myself.

Which plugs do you prefer? I have a 2018 and sometimes at WOT I have this sound like detonation. I have 23, 000 miles on a Cobb Stage 2 w/ FMIC

I had SP542’s in my 2017 Raptor awesome product. But for the 2019 went with NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug Part#: 95822. Not one complaint with MC SP 542 just did a lot of research and wanted to try NGKs product.

What’s your thoughts on NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug
Part#: 95822?

So what's the the real reason you are doing this? To get better fuel and more H.P.?? I thought this spark plugs lasted 100k miles

I have 53k+ on my 2019 and never changed them and haven't noticed any issues. I'm going to change them this week though for easy peace of mind.

What would make me think that I would need to change?

Google how to read your Spark PLUGS, just looking at the color of the plug I can see carbon or the blackness of the plug is an indication of too much of Fuel, this comes from not enough air flow, meaning that your Air filter blocks up it needs to change every 12000km, Ratio of Air to Fuel is 11.5 times
