“Wasting All These Tears” changed my life when it came out ten years ago. It’s a song I’ll be performing for the rest of my career and one that’s managed to take on many new lives. In my move back to my pop punk roots, I wanted to take WATT with me. I thought who better to produce this with me than my old band mate, Alex Lipshaw, from Hey Monday? The process was cathartic and sentimental… we truly did have the best time making this new version. It feels like a true depiction of the angst and frustration in the lyrics… it feels like coming home.

Ya know, I've been around since Hey Monday and I still remember my mom's face when we watched The Voice together and I said "wait... that's Cassadee Pope!" She's like "WHO??" I was so confident in you picking Adam, I nearly fell over when you picked Blake. But I stuck around through the country stage too. I liked it. This song is nostalgia to me as the last time I heard it I was struggling through a toxic relationship and it was like a routine that I would hear it every night before going to sleep thinking someday I would finally master up the courage to let go.
After a year, now that I hear the new version I'm finally calm and sure that things are over and I'm ready to turn a new page in my life.
