It's mad how for a decade now all these short films have been made on an old train game with arguably outdated graphics, and yet... .. that's enough. The visuals enhance the story and can most of the time convey what is being told. Heck, now the old graphics are somewhat nostalgic, given how these types of videos can trace their lineage back the the mid 2000s.

I have to say, this is very well done! Telling a story from the perspective of a human in Trainz is a tricky thing to pull off and you did so nicely! You managed to make the town feel abandoned and make the engine's presence very creepy. Both of which amplify the other which is a very curtail part of adapting this story. Very nice touch of having it spin around instantaneously at the end there. As if that engine couldn't be creepy enough. I also like how it wasn't smiling when chasing the POV character. A simple detail like that can change the whole feel of a sequence. Not having the engine smile and have more of neutral look, like it's on duty or under the delusion that what's he's doing is out of necessity, strikes the right balance of unsettling and creepy without going to overboard to the point where in ruins how rewatchable it is. I'd happily return to this video!

There's only one thing I'd disagree with and that's have Neil, No.2, being the engine to haunt Great Waterton. Yes, I know that Neil is THE S&M engine that we know but even before knowing the lore uncovered since the original video, it never felt right to have Neil be the "mechanical beast". He may have been ugly but he was kind and I just don't see him "consuming" all those people. I honestly thought, given how disgruntled he looked in that photo, that No.1 was going to be the one doing the haunting. Given the lore that I mentioned earlier, maybe the "mechanical beast" is the engine that worked himself to death.

Like I said though, that's the only thing I disagree with. It's a still a very good video!

October 12th, 1901 now thats a never explained detail that was missing and never said in "The Great Discovery" and who knows and believes that Hiro was abandoned the longest than Great Waterton 👍
