Woven Together Dundee is a community-based research project exploring Black and ethnic minority history in Dundee. For this special live event as part of Black History Month on Wed 12 October 2022, some of the project volunteers discussed the stories they have uncovered about the city’s links to slavery and its wealthy slaveowners, including members of the Kinloch, Wedderburn, Tullideph and Ogilvy families.

This is a recording of the event held in the Dalhousie Building, University of Dundee. Apologies for the variable sound quality.

Introduced by Erin Farley, President of the Abertay Historical Society.

Speakers:

Urenna Adegbotolu (Woven Together project co-ordinator)

Matthew Jarron (University of Dundee museum curator)

Laura Mowbray and David May (project volunteers)
