Bridgestone Battlax T 31 vs Pirelli Angel GT. (sports touring)
Hello, 90% of our riding is two up touring with a heavy pack on the rack… the tyres in the video have done 8037km and they have just passed a warrant of fitness.
The roads we were riding are the same as the Pirelli Angel GT’s and I like the T31’s more than the Angel GT’s in all conditions, especially the stability and control while mid corner.
I thought the Pirelli’s were amazing on this bike but I prefer even more the T31’s, the lean angle is far more with T31's which you can see if you compare both of my tyre reviews you will see the chicken strips (as they are known) are far wider on the Bridgestone, yet I had the bike over further through the Queen Charlotte Sounds (near Nelson, NZ) than i was able to with the Pirelli's.
My conclusion is I prefer the Bridgestone's more than Pirelli's on my Hayabusa in all categories, including the wet / rain.
The only downside to the T31's is they are very slippery when new vs the Angel GT's

Thanks for watching.

I was dead set on the Pirelli Angel GT, but i just found out they aren't making them anymore in the size I need. So now I'm looking for alternatives. It's good to hear you like this better. These are some of the few tires that actually fit my front wheel.

Greetings from the Coromandel Peninsula! I was impressed with the handling and grip of the Road 5's on my GSX1000 but I suffered several punctures which has made me gun-shy of them. I now have a Duke 790 and was thinking of T31's to replace the OEM sport tyres. Thanks for the review which has confirmed that I'll be getting the T31's shortly!
Cheers,

Geoff

thanks for the review. i had a old 93 k1100lt bmw and ran those. i converted the rear wheel from a LT to RS. from a wet noodle 130/90 to a 160/60 and both front and rear running radials. WOW such a difference. that bike could stay in the corners with some of the best. never had a performance issue with them. although im in the USA i only got about 3500miles out of the rear before you could notice the strip in the middle.

Looking for something to replace my S20 on my R1 (Had S21s in the past when I was track day riding and ran T30 Evos when I was doing touring). I guess with the T31, it's going to be more beneficial on the wet UK roads. I was considering the Angel GT. How do the turn ins compare, given that my R1 has such a direct front end, so would want a profile to suit the handling characteristics.

Looking at the rised trailing edge, the rebound is too fast

Hey, I've got a blackbird would these be a good tyre? I've got them on my aprilia and I prefer them to the metzeler on my bird

What do you mean the T31 have far more lean angle than the Angel GT? Is that due to the profile or stickiness of the rubber on the shoulder and edge?

Well, you do have a 2x the "chicken strip" on the T31 compared to the Pirelli Angel GT's. So lean angle can't have been better... Just sayin.
