THIS is the definition of financial minimalism. Saving money so we can spend it on what adds true value to each of our unique lives. Love the video.

Your small luxuries were the cutest thing ever. It's all so full of intention, I love it.

Lefie, I just love your vibe, I was a bit tired of these minimalists presenting an idealized view on minimalism, being hyperproductive overachievers in their luxurious apartments. Was about time to watch someone with a more relaxed take on things.

Fantastic list. Love how intentional you are with everything.

Don’t feel bad about your small luxuries! That’s one the awesome things about minimalism—you can use all the money you save from not buying a high volume of useless, low-quality crap instead on a low volume of high-quality items you actually use! Money well spent in my opinion.

Hell yeah to paying more to live in a space that makes you happier, even if it's smaller! And I've been loving having my groceries delivered every couple of weeks to my 3rd floor apartment this winter, since it's dangerous for me to go out on slippery sidewalks (always give the delivery person an extra tip for the climb!).

That coffee unboxing made me smile - such great packaging!

I also choose to pay more for excellent coffee. It’s roasted locally, and they deliver 2 bags to me every 2 weeks. I really enjoy it...especially when my bags have been roasted that very morning.😀

A great plan all around, Lefie! I agree with writing things down on paper and I think it's a reasonable purchase. I've heard that the more of our physical senses we involve in learning something, the better we learn it. Your comment in the video confirmed that. Keeping on taking those notes!

Youre my favorite minimalist youtuber.

Investing in high-quality reusable items definitely makes sense. A higher cost upfront but savings in the long term, plus less impactful on the environment.

Watching your videos about minimalism takes away a lot of the stress that I feel about not yet being where I want to be in my minimalism ~journey~. Also, I would probably spend money on candles on the "small luxuries" section, or maybe a diffuser. I find that scents lift my spirits more than visual decor like flowers do.

I've found since becoming more minimal that I pay more for things especially clothing, I appreciate quality and it's really nice to treat yourself to one lovely item rather than 10 cheap things.

Totally noticed the flowers last vid, thought someone bought for you. Cool that you just did it for you.

Some thoughts from cat man Steve. Hmm Guilty with regards paper notebooks (silly expensive nice ones named after a particular type of Talpidae!), Coffee oh yesss, nice soap (smell is part of it isn't it?), and yes to the good interwebs, you might want to watch the higher rent thing - do the math especially if your trying to save. But if you have time it's a nice project to find a great place to live that's affordable.

You realise that If you had a cat you could pump this list up to 11 (you know go all spinal tap on the list!). As always engaging and beautiful work thanks Lefie! :-)

Buy it nice, or buy it twice 😁 thanks for the recommendations Lefie!

I’m with you on the rent man, I used to live for $450 a month in a hole and it was great to have the money but I thought about how much I hated it like hourly

I put silicone ends on the metal straws for comfort. We splurged on touchless soap dispensers that seem to use less soap but I like mixing up the type of coffee idea definitely going to try that.

We had stainless steel straws. I kept knocking them on my teeth. We bought bamboo straws from Ikea instead. Much nicer to use!

6:37 Have you tried any of the the Anoto Livescribe pens? You write with ink on a special paper and it can send it automatically to your phone or computer in your hand writing (and drawings) or convert it to text. I use it for mid and later stages in projects when I want to store it digitally but still keep the physical more creative learning aspect, or on the go when I don't want to bring my heavy laptop or need to quickly send a sketch to someone without scanning or using a drawing tablet.
