Part of me think this Covid has been a nightmare but at present looking back the four months it's been a blessing. I can practice a lot more Taichiquan with the brilliant guidance from my mentor. My style of practice is pick one thing and focus on that one thing and apply it to all my forms. Lately I have been working on 3 things as discussed on this video. You have no idea how excited I am feeling and fustrated at the same time when each movements are being driven by opening the kwa before my feet, before knees definitely before quads and finally effortlessly the body, the arms are carried with it. It feels amazing.

Excellent video for focusing on the hip flexors (qua) which are the key to advancing in tai chi chuan. It really helps to listen to the explanations and not just watch.

It’s a very interesting form. I started with yang chen fu form 108 movements then went on to yang lu Chan’s form and baguazhang. Yang lu Chan’s for us much more complete having both the slow movements and also the fajin mixed into the form and around 360 movements. Supposed to be much more rounded out as it doesn’t leave you with a yin dificiency from doing the all slow form. Glad to see you practicing all these different aspects in your training! Such as keeping the Kua open, having yin and yang in every movement etc

Using hip flexor and kua, interchangeably, can make things confusing. Kua is the crease where the limbs attach to the torso, whereas hip flexors are a specific muscle group. Sinking into the kua involves relaxing the hip flexors, but relaxing hip flexors by themselves won't guarantee that we sink into the kua, as other factors are involved

It’s wonderful hearing your narrative
I only learned how to walk from a Wu style practitioner he taught me to walk in a way where your pelvis is tilted the whole time and drives the back leg to stop forward

And when I do dragon turns head from hsing I I use my pelvis to drive the movement

But this video shows me something else

I really want to add Tai chi to my practice now
I don’t know if yang or Wu or Chen

I must admit this
Form
Is a work of art
