Показать описание

The ECS engineered Lightweight Flywheel weighs in at 18.3 lbs versus the factory 29.8lb - a staggering 11.5lbs of weight savings.
A decreased mass means a lower moment of inertia, allowing your engine to rev much more quickly - improving acceleration.
Heat treated and black zinc plated for corrosion resistance and durability, the ECS unit is a model of engineering precision.

Love ECS. Going to order my engine mounts as soon as I finish removing the little rust from a junk yard subframe. Then repainting it with some engine paint. Having the guys at FFE do the install. They are the best.

Was the car with the flywheel the only modification on it? There's like a solid three second time difference between stock and the flywheel car reaching top of third gear.

I have and enjoy ECS products and their customer service is very easy to work with.
You need to consider a few things IF you use a light weight or lighter weight flywheel (I have both LW and oem) : Audi cars are primarily luxury cars with a performance "edge", therefore, Audi's are Heavy cars 4K plus! It is not so easy to get all that mass rolling! A heavy-er flywheel aids greatly in getting you rolling from a stop ; ie starting out. So drivability is much smoother, less effort to get rolling and keep rolling (less revs and clutch slipping off of a light), and longer clutch disc life. Performance wise, heavy flywheels and dual mass flywheels don't mix. But, for street use, IMO, heavier is really better. The car is MUCH easier to drive in the city and in traffic with a OEM flywheel, in fact when I pull away from a light with the S5 (4.2L), I don't even need to give it ANY extra gas pedal to get rolling ; it is very smooth and "pulls" off the start. That is all that inertia from the Dual Mass flywheel helping you get rolling! On the other hand, a LW flywheel requires much more gas and clutch pedal manipulation (slipping) to get rolling ; isn't that fun in stop and go traffic or winter conditions!
So, beware and know the results you will get Before you install, I've done clutch jobs on my Audi and it is a bit of a project (even with a lift and all the tools) and if you don't like it is not so easy to change it back!
I'm a performance guy, but on a heavy car I think you would prefer the oem DM flywheel. However, on a 3K or 3.2K car, al LW flywheel is much more manageable and fun.
Thanks again ECS for all the great customer service !
